Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

On top of earning a great overall score, this nursing home fared even better in our inspections category which is associated with the facility's recent inspection reports. In fact, we awarded it an A+ for that category, which is one of our best grades. Inspection scores are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this area tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This nursing home truly excelled in the category of long-term care, where we awarded it a grade of A. Only a select group of facilities performed more favorably in this category. Facilities that do well in this category typically provide residents with better supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 97.0297 percent of its patients, which is much higher than the average nursing home. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of C. This facility didn't perform quite as well in this category as it did in some other categories. Nevertheless, this is still a respectable score. Our nursing rating analyzes several subcategories, but the most important one is the level of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, although this facility got dinged a bit for nursing hours, it actually excelled in some of our quality metrics. With fewer than five percent of its patients sustaining pressure ulcers, it did remarkably well in this statistic.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: D

This nursing home's least impressive area was short-term care, which is the last category we scored. For this category, we gave this facility a grade of just D. Our short-term care scores are based in part on the facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a wide range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Unfortunately, this nursing home was below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the measures we assessed. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that just 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
