Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
We really could not find anything favorable to say about this place. It received just a just D in the area of nursing. Unfortunately, this turned out to be its best score. There are several factors included in this category. Many of these subcategories reflect the quantity of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing scores. This facility fared well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Long-term Care Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's low-end long-term care score where it received an F. Long-term care ratings in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility gave the vaccine to just 67.28723 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.

Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this facility received a lowly F for its inspection rating. You should pay close attention to any deficiencies on a nursing home's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection score. We recommend you scrutinize the level of severity of the deficiencies. This nursing home had 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we can say is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they created a risk to resident safety or health. Lastly, we also want to point out that this place received significant government fines recently totaling more than $100,000. This usually means that a nursing home's bad track record has been an issue for several years.
Short-term Care Quality
The next category we graded is short-term care. This facility was given a poor grade of F in this category. Short-term care scores are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Given its poor grade in this category, we weren't stunned to find this place offered far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. Finally, we looked at the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.3 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
