When nursing homes receive a grade in this range in long-term care it generally means it's well-staffed and is an overall good place to live on a permanent basis. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 96.82539 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients out of the hospital. This facility also received a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with an A-. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with better scores in this area typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the final category we analyzed, this facility received an impressive grade grade of B+ in our short-term care category. With this score, the facility topped off a first-rate report card. Short-term care grades are generally employed to measure a facility's rehabilitation services. To provide highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must feature higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other types of therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final measure we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients that ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 3.6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
