Facility Inspections
This nursing home earned an inspection grade which is better than its overall rating. Inspection scores are based on a nursing home's recent health inspections. We awarded this nursing home a very solid grade of B+ in this area. Our inspection grades are tied to many datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. This is a great sign for this facility.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing score. In that area, we gave this facility an B-. Our nursing rating analyzes several factors, most of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home fared better in some of the quality measures we assessed. It performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.

Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a D for its short-term care score, which is not one of our better scores. In computing our short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The objective is to devise a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. With a grade in this range in this area, we were not shocked to find that this nursing home was below average in many staffing figures we focus on. The facility provided far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most nursing homes. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 5.1 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we looked at was long-term care, turned out to be this nursing home's least impressive area. We awarded this facility a D in that area. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category likely don't provide the type of consistent around the clock care that some other facilities offer. Once we looked at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home vaccinated 60.882355 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which happens to be several points lower than what we were hoping for. To our surprise, this place actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
