Facility Inspections
While we were not high on this facility overall, we gave it a grade of B- for our inspections rating. This score is more respectable than this place's overall grade. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some are quite minor. While this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G through L. This means the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.
Nurse Quality
We also ended up giving this facility a fairly respectable grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B-. Our nursing grade is primarily tied to the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place actually excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. It performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded its next best category score in the category of short-term care. We gave this nursing home a B- in this category, which is an acceptable grade. In our short-term care grade, we seek to forge a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess the facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The more important thing is determining what effect this had on the quality of care. The last item we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that just 3.9 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we analyzed is long-term care. This nursing home received an abysmal grade of F in that category. Facilities that don't fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. One of the statistics we considered after nursing hours was vaccinations. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to only 88.2353 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this facility was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
