Nurse Quality
This nursing home earned a strong overall grade as discussed above, but we especially wanted to emphasize its excellent nursing grade. We awarded them a grade of A+ in this area. When computing our nursing ratings, we weigh both staffing levels and the skill levels of the nurses. This particular facility provided 4.8 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This was one of the more impressive figures we found. In addition, a significant portion of this care was provided by registered nurses, which are highly skilled nurses. These are both really impressive figures. In addition to offering impressive levels of nursing care, this place also excelled in the quality measures we assessed. For example, it performed as well as any facility in the nation when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We view these areas as good indicators of the quality of nursing care provided.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home was awarded impressive grades in the area of short-term care as well. Consequently, it received one of our strongest grades in that category with a score of A-. With our short-term care category, we attempt to forge a fair measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we look at the facility's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. This nursing home elevated its grade in this category by offering more care from registered nurses to its residents than the average facility. The final statistic we looked at in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that it fared as well as just about any facility in Washington in this area with 56.3 percent of its patients returning home.

Long-term Care Quality
We also gave this nursing home a middle of the pack grade in the category of long-term care, where we awarded it a grade of B-. In our long-term care rating, we focus on the volume of care offered by a facility, as well as a few quality statistics. In addition to offering favorable levels of nurse staffing, this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 99.28571 percent of its patients. This percentage is better than the majority of nursing homes. This combination proved to be effective as this nursing home keeps its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
Moving on the final category of inspections, we gave this nursing home a C for this category. Our inspection grades are based on many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important item to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. This facility was assessed 4 deficiencies on its government inspection report, but none were category G through L deficiencies. This tells you it avoided the more significant categories of deficiencies. We really did not find anything on this place's inspection report to be overly alarming.
