In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this nursing home excelled in our short-term care rating, where it received an A. Few facilities performed better in this category. Our short-term care ratings are based on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a broad scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.9 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

This facility really excelled in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of A-. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. The nursing grade analyzes several subcategories, most of which are tied to quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Adding to its impressive category grades, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. Our inspection scores are based on many items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this category tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in this industry.

The last area we looked at is long-term care. This facility was given a very good long-term care rating this year, with a C. While this isn't quite as impressive as a few of its other grades, this is still an acceptable rating for this area. Our long-term care scores are more important for residents needing more traditional assistance related to activities of daily living. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Fortunately, this facility gave the vaccine to 97.82609 percent of its patients, which is an above average statistic. Lastly, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
