We also wanted to point out the fact that this nursing home has earned excellent government inspections recently. We gave them an A in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being relatively insignificant. While this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This means the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.

Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A. Our nursing grade is largely tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as employing a protocol of moving residents at least once a day.

Turning the page to our next category, we gave this facility a grade of A- for its short-term care grade. This is a very impressive score. In determining our short-term care grades, we assess a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. This category is generally a solid assessment of the facility's rehabilitation. We weren't able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. This nursing home performed much better in the final datapoint we considered in this area, which was the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. This place performed as well as just about any nursing home in Oklahoma in this area with 58.5 percent of its patients returning home.

The final category we graded was this nursing home's worst category. Nevertheless, even in its weakest link we still awarded it a respectable grade of C in long-term care. Long-term care grades focus on a nursing home's personal care instead of the skilled therapy and medical services that are critical to a skilled nursing facility. One of the data points we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 100 percent of its residents. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1.16 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes.
