Registered Staff Hours
While we did not have many positive things to say about this nursing home's overall grade, it did receive a somewhat respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in this area with a B-. Our inspection grades are tied to datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these inspections. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. While this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
We also want to point out that this facility received a decent grade in our nursing category. We awarded it a grade of B- in the area. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, our nursing ratings also consider quality-based metrics, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is usually an indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place. Some falls could be avoided if a nursing home supplies enough nurses aids to assist its patients.

In the area of long-term care, we analyze the quantity of services offered by a nursing home, rather than more healthcare-oriented services. Once we concluded our assessment of the quantity of care provided by nurses, we next considered the facility's vaccination records. Candidly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 62.545456 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Fortunately, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
