Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection ratings. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are relatively minor. This facility was assessed 6 deficiencies on its government inspection report, but none were in category J, K or L. This indicates the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to place resident health or safety in imminent harm or jeopardy. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Nurse Quality
This facility's second best category was nursing, but even there it received a grade of just D. This is still a well below average grade. The nursing rating weighs a handful of datapoints, however, the paramount consideration is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This place averaged a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is an alarmingly low total. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.

Long-term Care Quality
We gave this nursing home a grade of just D for our long-term care rating. This is not a very good score. In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 97.55639 percent of its residents, which is higher than most nursing homes. Surprisingly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we analyzed is short-term care. This facility received a bottom of the barrel grade of F in that category. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to qualify measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We assess a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. With a grade of this caliber in this area, we weren't surprised to discover that this facility was well below average in many staffing figures we assess. In fact, it provided substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 3.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
