Registered Staff Hours
On top of being an elite facility overall, this facility excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A+. Very few nursing homes performed this well in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some are quite minor. While this facility had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This top notch facility also performed well in the area of long-term care, where it received a grade of A+. Few facilities fared better in this category. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are kept in good health. After we finished looking at the quantity of nursing care, we next considered the facility's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly is often a dangerous condition for nursing home residents so we prefer when a nursing home doesn't take any chances. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
