Facility Inspections
This facility earned a solid overall grade as described above, but we really wanted to emphasize its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave them an A+ in this category. Inspection grades account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. This is a great sign for the quality of care at this facility.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's next most favorable category was its long-term care grade, where it was given a grade of B-. If you are looking for services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care grades. One of the factors we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 97.95918 percent of its patients. Finally, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality
Moving on to another strength for this facility, it also earned an elite nursing score. We gave this nursing home an impressive grade of D. When calculating a nursing home's nursing rating, we consider the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the levels of training of those nurses. This facility averaged a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is not a very impressive figure. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This place fared well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we looked at is short-term care, which is this nursing home's least impressive category. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F for this area, which is obviously concerning. Our short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This means a wide spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Considering its score in this category, we were not surprised to discover that this place is well below average in terms of its number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the measures we assessed. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. At most facilities, about half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
