Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A. Our nursing grade features a variety of datapoints. The most important variable is the amount of time nurses spend with residents. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a system of moving a patient at least once a day.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our next category, this facility was given a decent short-term care rating. Although this was not as impressive as some of its other grades, this is really not the end of the world. Our short-term care grade is commonly employed to measure a nursing home's rehabilitation services. In order to provide quality rehabilitation services, facilities generally must provide better levels of highly skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. We found that 3.9 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit below the national average.
