Nurse Quality
Another reason we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. When computing our nursing ratings, we look at both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the training levels of the nurses. This place provides an incredible 7.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. Out of that total, many of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which is one of the most highly highly trained levels of nurses. In addition to providing impressive levels of nursing care, this nursing home also excelled in the quality measures we looked at. It performed as well as any facility in the country in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
In the last area, this nursing home also received an excellent long-term care score, with an A. This rounded out a very impressive report card. Long-term care grades of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccines. It doesn't appear that this nursing home provided data regarding vaccinations. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
