Facility Inspections

Grade: F

This place did not receive any respectable grades. Its most concerning grade may be its inspection grade, where it received an F. For facilities with poor inspection scores, you should really scrutinize any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This nursing home was assessed multiple deficiencies in categories J through L, which represent the worst categories of deficiencies. This generally means that the government inspectors identified deficiencies which place resident health or safety in imminent danger. Finally, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home was assessed large government fines in recent years totaling more than $100,000. This often means that a poor performance spanned more than one year.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. In that area, we gave this nursing home an F. Our nursing grade assesses a handful of factors, but the main one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home averaged just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This statistic is well below average. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing grades. This facility performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Another issue was the F this nursing home was given in the category of short-term care. In forming our short-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our goal is to devise a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Based on its poor grade in this category, we were not stunned to find that this nursing home provided substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most other nursing homes. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.3 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The last category we scored was long-term care, where this facility was given a rock bottom grade in this category as well. It received an abysmal F in this area, which is definitely a major disappointment. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We found that this facility administered the vaccine to only 83.74558 percent of its patients, which is quite a bit lower than we expected. To our surprise, this facility was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
