Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

On top of receiving a great overall score, this nursing home also received top notch government inspections in recent years. We gave them one of our better grades in that area, with an A-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection grades. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are relatively minor. While this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Remember that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in the industry.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility was given high grades in the area of short-term care as well. Indeed, we awarded it one of our most elite scores in that category with a area of A-. In calculating our short-term care scores, we analyze the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This grade is considered to be a meaningful measure of a facility's rehabilitation services. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final item we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B. The nursing grade consists of several datapoints, however, the main one is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

This facility's worst category was long-term care, which is the final category we looked at. For this category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of D. For prospective patients in need of a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 98.181816 percent of its patients, which is better than the vast majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
