Facility Inspections
On top of receiving an elite overall score, this facility earned an A+ inspection rating. This score is based on its recent government inspections. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can offer a nursing home. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this nursing home had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Among the reasons we rated this facility so well is that it was given a strong long-term care score. Indeed, long-term care ended up being its second most favorable category score. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of A-. For prospective patients in need of a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 91.56909 percent of its patients. This is a bit less than we expected but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at was short-term care, where this facility was awarded a grade of B-. This actually is this nursing home's least impressive category. This is nevertheless not a bad grade. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The purpose is to create a barometer for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various facilities. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The final item we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 4.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is below average.
