Facility Inspections

Grade: A+

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this category most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. We were not able to track down information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This facility also fared very well in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a score of A. Only a select group of nursing homes received a better grade in this area. Our short-term care scores are important for residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires more highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means a vast range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 7 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Turning our next area, we gave this nursing home a grade of A- for our long-term care rating. This is a first-rate grade. For residents looking for a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care grades are an important measure. One of the datapoints we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this facility submitted information about vaccinations. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the last category we looked at, this facility was given a very favorable grade of B+ in our nursing category. With this grade, the nursing home topped off an elite profile. Nursing grades are based in large part on quantity of nursing care available. This facility provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
