Facility Inspections

Grade: A

To pair with a strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home an A for our inspections rating. Inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with better grades in this area typically have few of these severe deficiencies. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

To complement its top-shelf assessments in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our long-term care rating. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care tend to provide patients with more supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 98.94737 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1.43 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this facility also received favorable nursing grades this year. In fact, we awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of B+. Our nursing score is based on several components, but the most important consideration is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed better than average in this area. This is often a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Moving on to our last area, this nursing home also performed admirably in the short-term care category. In fact, we gave it a grade of B+ in this area. This rounded out a very strong profile. Short-term care ratings are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this facility submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that it outperformed the majority of nursing homes in the country with 50.6 percent of its patients returning home. This is a better rate than most nursing homes.
