Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

Even though this nursing home's overall grade was terrible, it actually didn't perform quite as poorly in the area of long-term care. We gave it a B- for that area, which isn't bad. Unfortunately, this was not enough to salvage its otherwise weak profile. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. One of the statistics we considered after nurse's aid hours is vaccines. Fortunately, this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to 97.65258 percent of its residents. This nursing home also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Facility Inspections

Grade: F

We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's inspection score where it received an F. This usually means we found some major red flags on its inspection reports. You should pay close attention to any deficiencies on a facility's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection rating. We recommend you pay close attention to the level of severity of those deficiencies. This particular facility was hit with 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they caused a risk to resident safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The next area we graded is short-term care. This nursing home's was given a low-end short-term care score where it received an F. Short-term care grades are based on a nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Considering its grade in this area, we weren't surprised to learn that this facility was well below average in terms of the quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the figures we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected to find. The final measure we assessed in this category is the percentage of residents who ultimately returned home from the facility. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 0 percent of its residents returning home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

Turning to our final area, this nursing home really didn't perform well in this area either. Due to a rock bottom grade of F in nursing, this is about as terrible as it gets. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This number is significantly below the national average. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these data points to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
