Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to point out that this nursing home has received near flawless health inspections recently. We gave them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these can be relatively insignificant. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home also was awarded a favorable short-term care score. Indeed, we awarded it an above average grade of B+ in this category. In calculating our short-term care grades, we size up the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This category is often a fair assessment of the nursing home's rehabilitation services. It does not look like this nursing home submitted registered nurse or physical therapist staffing data. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

Another one of this facility's impressive category grades came in the area of nursing care. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of B. In determining a nursing home's nursing rating, we consider the amount of time nurses are with patients as well as the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

Switching gears to our last category, this facility was awarded an acceptable long-term care score. Even though this isn't quite as impressive as a few of its other scores, this is still a middle of the pack score. Our long-term care grades are more meaningful for patients requiring more traditional services related to activities of daily living. After looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 99.54128 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. This place also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
