Facility Inspections

Grade: A

On top of performing well in its overall grade, this facility received a nearly flawless inspection report. Consequently, it received one of our highest grades in this category with an A. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better scores in this area typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This particular nursing home received 3 deficiencies on its inspection report. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also want to emphasize the fact that this nursing home was given a superb grade of A in our short-term care category. With our short-term care assessment, we attempt to craft a valuable barometer for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at the nursing home's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who returned home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Turning the page to our third category, this nursing home was awarded a top-shelf long-term care grade. In fact, it received a grade of A- in that category. When facilities receive this type of grade in this category it is usually a good sign for resident care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 98.38709 percent of its patients. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

In our final area, we gave this facility a grade of A for our nursing rating. This finished off a very impressive profile. When calculating a facility's nursing grade, we weigh the number of hours nurses are with patients and the skill levels of the nurses. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as having a system of moving a resident more often.
