Facility Inspections
Although we gave this nursing home a poor overall score, we gave it a grade of B for our inspections rating. This is due to the facility receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Inspection scores are based on many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this was still a relatively favorable report.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's second best score was long-term care, but it still earned a grade of just D in that category. This turns out to be a well below average grade. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 98.2669 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.

Short-term Care Quality
The third area we analyzed was short-term care, in which this facility was given an F. In computing our short-term care ratings, we look at the facility's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This area is more often than not a meaningful assessment of the nursing home's rehabilitation services. Given its weak grade in this category, we weren't stunned to learn this place provided significantly fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most other facilities. The final measure we considered in this area is the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 0 percent of its residents returning home.
Nurse Quality
The last category we assessed was nursing, in which this nursing home received an abysmal score in this area also. It received a lowly F in this area, which is obviously a major disappointment. Nursing scores are based in large part on nurse staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This nursing home fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
