Facility Inspections
Although we gave this nursing home a poor overall score, we gave it a grade of B for our inspections rating. This is due to the facility receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Inspection scores are based on many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this was still a relatively favorable report.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's second best score was long-term care, but it still earned a grade of just D in that category. This turns out to be a well below average grade. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 97.56944 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.

Short-term Care Quality
We gave this facility just a D for our short-term care score. This is not a very good score. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other licensed professionals. This score is considered to be a fair measure of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Given its weak score in this category, we were not surprised to learn this facility offered far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The final metric we considered in this area is the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 0 percent of its residents returning home.
Nurse Quality
The last area we graded was nursing, in which this nursing home received a rock bottom grade here as well. It received an F in this area, which is definitely very concerning. When computing a facility's nursing score, we look at the number of hours nurses commit to residents and the levels of training of the nurses. With just 0.2 hours of nursing care per patient daily, this nursing home's nurse staffing levels were significantly below average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This facility performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
