On top of being a strong facility overall, this nursing home also excelled in our inspections category, where it earned an A. Few facilities fared better in this area. Inspection grades are based on several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this area typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. While this facility had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 98.75 percent of its patients. Vaccination is a great way to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations for the aged 65 and up population. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

The next highest grade we gave this nursing home came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. This wasn't quite as good as some of its other scores, but a grade in this range is not the end of the world. We weighed the licensure of nurses working for the facility, in addition to the quantity of time the nurses were with residents, in computing our score in this category. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a low total compared with most nursing homes. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care. In many cases, the quality of nursing care is just as important as the number of hours of care offered.

This figure was well below average.
