Facility Inspections
On top of receiving a strong overall grade, this nursing home also received an A+ inspection rating. This grade is based on its recent inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can offer a facility. Our inspection grades weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher grades in this category typically have few severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Adding to its superb resume, this facility also excelled in our long-term care category. In fact, we gave it a score of A in that area. For residents in need of a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is a very important category. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 72.60274 percent of its residents. This is somewhat less than we were hoping for. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality
Contributing to its fine assessment, this nursing home also was awarded a superb short-term care grade, with a score of A-. In determining our short-term care grades, we look at a facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. This grade is more often than not a useful assessment of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.7 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
Turning to our next category, this nursing home received a decent nursing grade. Although this wasn't quite as elite as several of its other category grades, this is really nothing to be ashamed of. Nursing ratings are tied to quality and quantity of nursing care. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we were hoping for. Lastly, we also factored a few quality-based metrics into our nursing grades. This nursing home was relatively weak in a few of the major areas we focus on, with below average scores for minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. These areas are often good indicators of the quality of nursing care offered.
