Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a poor overall score, we awarded it a B+ for our inspections rating. This was due to the nursing home receiving a quality inspection report this year. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Nurse Quality
This facility's second best category was nursing, but even there it received a grade of just D. This is still a well below average grade. Our nursing score is largely associated with the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This facility fared well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these metrics to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
Another unfortunate development was the F this facility received in the area of long-term care. Facilities that don't fare well in this category typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine personal care we looked at. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home gave the vaccine to only 68.44262 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the final category, this facility really did not perform very well in this category either. Due to a bottom of the barrel grade of F in short-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. Our short-term care scores are vital for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes additional skilled nursing. This means a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. With a score of this caliber for this area, we weren't stunned to find that this facility was below average in multiple staffing metrics we assess. The facility supplied substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who who were able to eventually return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.7 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
