Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. We believe that one of the most important factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially focus on the severity of the deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. We are also concerned by the fact that this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. Nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of F. There are quite a few datapoints included in this category. Many of these criteria are tied to the quantity of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This nursing home performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these statistics to be good measures of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
Tragically, we gave this facility an F for its long-term care grade. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category may not provide the kind of consistent around the clock care that some other nursing homes offer. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We were a bit concerned this nursing home provided the vaccine to a relatively low 73.43453 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the fourth category, this facility really did not fare very well in this category either. With a very poor grade of F in short-term care, this is really as as uninspiring as it gets. In computing our short-term care ratings, we scrutinize the facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This rating is considered to be a fair measure of a facility's rehabilitation services. Considering its weak score in this category, we were not stunned to discover this nursing home offers far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Lastly, we considered the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
