This facility has received near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A in this category. Inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.

This nursing home also was elite in the category of short-term care, where we gave it a score of A-. Few facilities received a better grade in this area. In the area of short-term care, we seek to qualify indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. We were pleased to find that this nursing home employs both registered nurses and physical therapists. The same can't be said for all nursing homes. Lastly, we considered the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This place performed better than most facilities with 52.8 percent of its residents returning home.

The final area we graded was long-term care. This nursing home received a better than average nursing grade in our assessment, with a grade of B. Even though this was not nearly as dominant as many of its other grades, this is nevertheless one of the better grades in that category. Nursing homes that excel in this category typically provide patients with closer supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. On top of patient-friendly nursing hour statistics, this nursing home's vaccination record is superb also. In fact, this nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia. This combination proved to be effective as this place also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
