On top of receiving a great overall score, this nursing home also received an elite nursing grade. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with an A-. The nursing rating features several subcategories. The most heavily weighted variable is the amount of time nurses spend with residents. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Contributing to this nursing home's list of achievements, it also received a very favorable long-term care grade. We awarded them a strong grade of A- in this area. When facilities receive this kind of score in this category it is a good sign for resident care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses aids. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping patients healthy. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with better grades in this category usually have very few severe deficiencies. While this place had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.

Although this was not as good as a few of its other scores, this is nevertheless an acceptable score for this category. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this facility provided registered nurse or physical therapist staffing data. The last statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home. This figure was below average.
