Long-term Care Quality
On top of performing well in its overall score, this facility received an excellent long-term care rating. We gave it an impressive grade of A in that area. Facilities that receive this type of score in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are well cared for. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 99.64476 percent of its residents, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia tragically can be a life or death illness for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
Adding to this facility's impressive resume, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple relatively minor dings aren't necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded an impressive short-term care grade as well. We awarded it one of our better grades in that area with a score of B+. Short-term care grades are typically used to assess a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation To provide highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to feature higher levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. It does not appear that this facility provided information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. We found that 5.2 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
The final area we analyzed is this facility's poorest category. However, even its worst category would likely be a strength for many facilities. We gave it a strong grade of B for our nursing category. Our nursing rating is based on the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We factor in both the levels of licensure of those nurses and the number of hours spent with residents. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these data points as predictive measures of the caliber of nursing care provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
