Facility Inspections
We also wanted to point out that this facility has received near flawless government inspections recently. We gave them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. Inspection ratings are based on items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that excel in this area typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This place received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
Another one of this nursing home's impressive category scores came in the category of short-term care. We gave them one of our stronger scores in that area, with a score of B+. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The objective is to devise a measure for comparing the rehabilitation services of various facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality
Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. Our nursing rating assesses the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We look at both the levels of training of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as employing a system of turning a patient more frequently.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we looked at was long-term care, which is a weak spot for this nursing home. We awarded this nursing home a grade of D for the area of long-term care, rendering this the nursing home's weakest category grade. We would nevertheless recommend that you consider all of a nursing home's grades. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it generally means the facility didn't perform well in our measures relating to patient care. After we finished assessing the amount of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. We were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated only 87.82051 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.
