Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home received a very favorable short-term care rating. Its short-term care score proved to be its best category. In that area, we gave this them a grade of B+. In determining these short-term care ratings, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The goal is to devise a barometer for sizing up the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Unfortunately, we weren't able to track down information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Finally, we assessed the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.3 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

This facility also performed well in the area of inspections. As a result, it received one of our highest scores in that area with an B+. Inspection grades account for several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this area usually have few of these severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate deficiency data for this nursing home. We would like to have more information about this facility. Without all of the deficiency data, it was difficult to grade this nursing home in this category.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

In addition, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B in our nursing category. This is one of our better grades. In computing our nursing scores, we analyze both nursing hours and the training levels of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a policy of moving a patient more often.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The final area we analyzed is long-term care, which turned out to be this nursing home's worst category. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F for this category, which is certainly concerning. If you are seeking services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care ratings. On top of considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 94.64286 percent of its residents, which is better than the vast majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this facility was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
