Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our short-term care category. In computing our short-term care grades, we look at the facility's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other types of therapists. This area is considered to be a meaningful assessment of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we considered in this category is the number of residents who were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 6.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Facility Inspections
Turning to our inspection category, this facility excelled in that area, which is based on the nursing home's recent government inspections. We awarded it an A for that category. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A. We assessed the qualifications of nurses at the nursing home, as well as the quantity of time the nurses were with residents, in computing our rating in this category. This facility provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the fourth area, this nursing home was given an extremely favorable long-term care grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of B+ in this category, wrapping up one of our more impressive profiles. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 86.986305 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is a bit below what we were hoping for but still a respectable figure. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
