To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this category most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. Fortunately, although this nursing home had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.

Another one of this facility's impressive category scores came in the area of long-term care. We awarded them one of our higher scores in that area, with a grade of B+. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. After we finished assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This nursing home vaccinated 99.33555 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia is often a deadly condition for nursing home patients so we prefer when a nursing home does not roll the dice on this issue. This place was also able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Although it had 1.93 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, its risk adjusted statistic was better than the majority of nursing homes due to it having more complex patients.

This nursing home's next best category was nursing. We awarded it a grade of B- in this category. While this wasn't quite as good as some of its other category grades, this isn't a bad score either. Our nursing score looks at the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We factor in both the levels of skill of those nurses as well as the number of hours spent with residents. This nursing home averages 3.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based metrics, such as preventing major falls. This nursing home performed admirably in this datapoint.

The next area we graded is short-term care. We gave it a C in that category. This is basically a middle of the road grade in this area. Our short-term care scores are arguably most important for residents requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally requires more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means not just nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. This nursing home employs both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities employ these skilled professionals. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents that returned home from this facility. We found that 42.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was actually below the national average.
