While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of B- in that category. Nursing scores are tied to levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home surprisingly fared better in some of the quality measures we looked at. It scored well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

Nevertheless, this nursing home excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.04 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Among this facility's alarming category grades was an F for its inspection grade. More often than not, this means we found some red flags on the facility's inspection reports. For facilities with poor inspection scores, you should focus on any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This facility had 4 deficiencies by CMS. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they created a threat to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.

The final area we looked at is short-term care, where this nursing home received a rock bottom grade in this category also. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F for this area, which is definitely somewhat alarming. This score is typically a fair measure of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Not surprisingly, we found that this place offers substantially less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than the typical nursing home. The last datapoint we considered in this area is the number of residents who returned home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 3.7 percent of its patients returning home. This was well below average.
