Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a C for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be quite minor. This facility was assessed 5 deficiencies on its government inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were in category J, K or L. This means the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to put patient health or safety in immediate harm or jeopardy. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.

Sadly, this facility's next most favorable category was short-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this area, it still fared somewhat badly. Our short-term care scores are based on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Given its grade in this area, we weren't surprised to learn that this place is well below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its residents based on the measures we assessed. Frankly, this was what we expected here. The last statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who returned home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 0 percent of its residents returning home. This was well below average.

In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. There are a variety of criteria within this area. Most of these datapoints reflect the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care.

The final category we analyzed is long-term care, in which this nursing home received a poor grade here also. We gave it an F in this area, which is obviously very concerning. For long-term care residents, the primary goal is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Thankfully, this facility vaccinated 99.01478 percent of its residents, which is a very respectable percentage. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
