Although we did not rate this nursing home highly overall, we want to draw your attention to its nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A in this category. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid nursing homes that had a long list of severe deficiencies. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. A few minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.

We gave this facility just a D for our short-term care score and that actually turned out to be its second most favorable score. In forming our short-term care ratings, we assess the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The goal is to create a scale for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various facilities. Given its grade in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this place is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the figures we looked at. Honestly, this was what we expected to find. Finally, we looked at the number of patients who returned home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.

We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. When computing a facility's nursing score, we assess the number of hours nurses are seeing residents as well as the level of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home offered just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is well below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these statistics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.

The last category we looked at was long-term care. Sadly, it received a lowly F for this area, which is an abysmal grade. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in this category may not provide the type of consistent 24/7 care that some other nursing homes provide. After assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. We were disappointed to learn that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 89.16667 percent of its residents against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
