While we didn't give this place a good overall score, we actually gave it a relatively strong grade in the category of inspections, where it earned a B+. Long-term Care Quality

We gave this facility just a D for our long-term care score and that actually turned out to be its second most respectable score. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary objective is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home provided the vaccine to 97.65625 percent of its patients, which is an above average total. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
