Short-term Care Quality
While we gave this nursing home a poor overall grade, we actually gave it a fairly respectable grade in our short-term care category, where it received a B-. This was better than some of its other grades. Short-term care grades are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This means a wide scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this facility provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Finally, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.7 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of B-. The nursing rating includes a handful of factors, but the most important one is the level of nurse hours per patient per week. This place provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we were hoping for. Finally, although this place got dinged a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in a few of our quality-based metrics. With less than five percent of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, it performed very well in this statistic.

Facility Inspections
This facility received mediocre inspections in recent years. We awarded them a grade of C in this area. Our inspection scores are tied to datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. This nursing home was hit with 8 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were category J through L deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to place patient safety or health in immediate harm or jeopardy. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to the next category, we awarded this facility a D for the area of long-term care. This is the facility's weakest category grade. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities offer. One of the statistics we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours was vaccines. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to a relatively low 55.021835 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.04 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.
