Despite only having a couple of nursing homes, this city's nursing homes received a very good city grade of B+. In fact, Duncan is one of the ten highest rated cities in the state of Oklahoma. The best aspect of Duncan's strong report card is its nursing homes' inspection ratings. Inspection reports are discussed in the next section
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, many of the nursing homes in Duncan performed remarkably well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded the city an A+ for that category, which is one of our best scores. Our inspection scores account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher scores in this area tend to have very few severe deficiencies. In addition, we also wanted to emphasize that we awarded Duncan an A+ in our long-term care category. In our final two categories, the city earned grades of B- and D for our short-term care and nursing areas respectively. We were somewhat disappointed with its nursing score, but there is still plenty to be enthusiastic about on this place's report card.
