Medical Guardian'sHome-Based System Feature

Medical Guardian received the highest ratings for its home-based system features. The company's systems are user-friendly and reliable, with a wide range of coverage. These subcategories helped Medical Guardian achieve its high ratings:

Water Resistance

Unfortunate events can happen anywhere, even at home. That’s why Medical Guardian designed its help buttons to be water-resistant. This means that if you accidentally drop your help button in the sink or take a spill in the shower, you can still count on the device to be there for you.

Range of Protection

Some home-based system providers only offer protection within a certain range, usually a few hundred feet. But with their devices, you’re protected no matter where you are in your home because their systems work up to 1400ft away from the base unit.

Fall Detection

Their home-based systems are equipped with this life-saving feature. Note that this is a premium feature and will cost an extra $10/month. This rate is the industry average.

Cellular Fee

This device connects to your landline telephone and offers the best-ever connection speed via LTE, making it ideal for areas without broadband and/or poor cell service.

Medical Guardian'sOn-The-Go System

Medical Guardian is also rated highly for its on-the-go system features. These are the subcategories that we assess for this system:

Water Resistance

It is relieving to know that the on-the-go system is water-resistant. With IP67 water rating, the system can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. So, if you are caught in a rainstorm or accidentally drop the device in a puddle, you can rest assured that it will still work properly.

Battery Life

One of the best features of the on-the-go system is its battery life. With an average of 5 days battery life, you don't need to worry about recharging the device every day. Even if you forget to recharge it for a couple of days, the device will still work properly.

GPS Location Tracking

The company’s systems do not come with GPS location tracking. This should have been a valuable feature, especially if your loved one tends to wander off or gets lost easily.

Fall Detection

Another great feature of the on-the-go system is its fall detection. If your loved one were to fall, the device would automatically detect it and send an alert to the monitoring center. This also costs an additional $10/month.

Caregiver App

Medical Guardian has a MyGuardian Portal available for their On-the-go systems. This app lets you manage your network you can communicate with in times of need.

Medical Guardian'sMonitoring Center Reliability

The monitoring center is one of the most important aspects of a medical alert device and we are happy to report that Medical Guardian's monitoring center is efficient and reliable. Thus, rating it with A. We reviewed the following aspects when determining the system's rating:

Location of The Monitoring Center

The monitoring center is 100% US-based, which is a huge plus. We prefer medical alert systems that have their monitoring center located in the US because it ensures quick response times.

Third-Party Certification

Medical Guardian received a TMA Five-Diamond Certification, which is the highest certification that a monitoring center can receive. This certification is only given to monitoring centers that meet the strictest standards in the industry.

Response Rate

Response rate is the average amount of time before a monitoring agent responds to the user after pressing the button. This is the most important part of this category. With Medical Guardian's systems and monitoring centers, the response time is an impressive average of 20 seconds.

Multi-Lingual

Their monitoring center is available in English and Spanish. Even if you don't speak in any of these two languages, their operators will still be able to communicate with you using a translation service.

Medical Guardian'sOverall Cost

After focusing on the system quality, the next important factor in a medical alert device is always going to be the overall cost of purchasing the device. Below are the costs we have taken into account to come up with the rating of A-.

Monitoring Fees

The monthly fee paid by users availing Medical Guardian's plans ranges from $29.95 to $39.95. This price range is just around the average monthly fee for medical alert systems.

Device Cost

We feel that the cost of their systems is quite reasonable when compared to other systems in the market. It ranges from $124.95 to $199.95.

Cancellation Fee

Medical Guardian does not charge any cancellation fee, making it one of the few companies that do not have this policy.

Spouse Monitoring

Spouse monitoring is available for an additional monthly fee of $2.99. This is a great option for couples who want to be able to keep tabs on each other's health and safety.

Shipping Fee

Last on the list is the shipping fee. The good news is that Medical Guardian only charges $12.50 for shipping, which is quite reasonable.
