El Dorado, Kansas has only two nursing homes to choose from, which is a limited selection. This city received a decent city grade of B- based on the quality of its nursing homes. This is just about average by national standards, which is perfectly respectable. One of the best aspects of this city's report card is its stellar inspection grade, which we will address in the next paragraph.
Despite receiving a somewhat average overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed remarkably well in our inspections category. In fact, some of the nursing homes in the city received virtually perfect inspection reports this year. Consequently, El Dorado received one of our highest scores in that category with an A-. Our inspection scores are based on several pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this area have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. El Dorado also received an impressive nursing score with a grade of B+ in this category. Rounding out its profile, we gave El Dorado grades of B and D for our short-term care and long-term care areas respectively. Even with an otherwise strong profile, a long-term care grade in this range may be a problem for some people.
