With 13,086 people, Keokuk, Iowa is a relatively small city. There are only 2 nursing homes there, which doesn't give you too many options. We awarded the nursing homes here a phenomenal city grade of A-. Even with only a few nursing homes, this is still quite an achievement. In fact, this city's city grade even surpassed the city grade of facilities in the nearby city of Quincy. This is especially impressive in light of the fact that we awarded those nursing homes in Quincy a city grade of B, which is actually a good grade in its own right. This city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we especially wanted to point out that some of the city's facilities received virtually flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave Keokuk an impressive grade of A+ for this category. Our inspection ratings are tied to pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. In addition, Keokuk earned a grade of B+ for our nursing category. Rounding out its impressive profile, the city earned a B+ for its short-term care rating and a grade of B+ for long-term care. We truly found this city to be competent everywhere we looked.
