Despite receiving a fairly ordinary overall grade, the nursing homes in Sparta performed extremely well in our inspections category. In fact, some of the nursing homes in the city received virtually perfect inspection reports this year. As a result, Sparta received one of our highest ratings in that category with an A+. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite insignificant. The next highest score we gave this place in any category was its long-term care rating, where we awarded it a B-. Finally, we awarded the city terrible grades for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively.
