There are two facilities in Oneonta, Alabama, so at least you have a few choices. While it only has a couple of nursing homes, this city received a superb city grade of A-. By way of comparison, we gave the facilities in the nearby city of Birmingham a city grade of B+, which is also a good score. However, we found the nursing homes in Oneonta to be a slightly better option on average than the ones in Birmingham. We were actually so impressed with this city that we rated it as one of the twenty five highest rated cities in Alabama.
This city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we also wanted to emphasize that some of the city's facilities received almost flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave Oneonta an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Inspection scores are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this area typically have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. In addition, the city also performed extremely well in our long-term care category, where it earned an A for this area. Wrapping up its report card, Oneonta received favorable grades for our nursing and short-term care categories as well.
