Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

In addition to having a decent overall rating, we also would like to point out that this nursing home received favorable inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our better grades in this area, with a B+. This is a much better score than the nursing home's overall score. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple of minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This facility also received a positive grade in our short-term care category. We gave this facility an above average grade of B in that area. In our short-term care category, we seek to craft a valuable gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at the facility's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 4.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of B-, which is a decent grade. In computing a nursing home's nursing grade, we look at the amount of time nurses are seeing residents as well as the level of licensure of those nurses. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This figure is far below average. Lastly, while this place got docked a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it excelled in a few of our quality measures. With less than five percent of its patients suffering from pressure ulcers, it fared very well in this area.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Moving on to our next category, this nursing home didn't fare well. Due to a very poor grade of F in long-term care, this was its weakest grade. For long-term care residents, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home vaccinated 98.11321 percent of its patients, which is a very respectable percentage. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
