Although we did not rate this place favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively solid government inspections in recent years. We gave it a B in this area, which is much better than its overall grade. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection grades. One critical factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite minor. This particular nursing home received 8 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Surprisingly, this facility actually received an impressive nursing grade this year as well. We gave it a grade of B in this category. Our nursing grade is largely associated with a nursing home's nurse staffing. This facility provided 3.8 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these datapoints as reliable measures of the quality of nursing care provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.

Sadly, this nursing home only earned a grade of D for its short-term care score, which is not one of our better scores. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other types of therapists. This area is generally a solid assessment of the facility's ability to rehabilitate patients. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The final item we considered in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 33.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is well below average. This statistic was damning for this facility's short-term care grade.

Long-term Care Quality

Oct 18: DNov 18: DDec 18: DJan 19: DFeb 19: DMay 19: FJun 19: FJul 19: DAug 19: DSep 19: DJan 20: DMar 20: DApr 20: DMay 20: DJun 20: DJul 20: DAug 20: D
Historical

The last area we scored was long-term care, proved to be this facility's weakest area. We awarded this nursing home a grade of D in that category. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities provide. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We found that this nursing home administered the vaccine to just 82.58707 percent of its patients, which is a bit of a concern. Surprisingly, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 1.43 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
