With an overall grade this high, it should come as no surprise that this nursing home excelled in inspections, where it received a grade of A. Inspection ratings weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher scores in this area generally have very few severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. When determining a nursing home's nursing rating, we weigh the quantity of hours nurses spend with patients and the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by having a protocol of moving a patient at least once a day.

Turning to our third area, this facility also earned a grade of B+ for its short-term care rating. This is an above average grade in this area. In forming our short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our objective is to formulate a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of various facilities. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients that were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Switching gears to our last category, this facility was awarded a highly favorable long-term care grade. While this is not quite as good as many of its other grades, this is still one of the stronger scores we offer. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in long-term care it is typically a good sign for resident care and indicates that the place is well-staffed with nurses aids. Once we concluded our assessment of the volume of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly is often a life threatening ailment for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. The last statistic we looked at is the nursing home's hospitalization rate. While it had 2.45 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, its risk adjusted metric was middle of the road since it had more complex patients.
