Our inspection grades are tied to many datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent government inspections. Nursing homes that excel in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor made us feel better about this inspection report.

The last category we graded is long-term care. This facility was awarded a favorable long-term care rating this year, with a B-. Even though this is not quite as dominant as many of its other scores, this is nevertheless a decent score for that category. Our long-term care ratings are more important for individuals requiring more conventional assistance related to personal care. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients, which is a very respectable percentage. Finally, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
