To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. Inspection scores are based on items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This facility received 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to create an imminent threat to resident health or safety. Remember that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in the industry.

We also awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our nursing grade. Our nursing score is mostly associated with a nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. This nursing home was given an impressive short-term care score as well. We gave it one of our better scores in that area with a grade of B+. In determining our short-term care grades, we look at a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This category is considered to be a useful measure of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this nursing home submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The final area we analyzed was long-term care. This facility was awarded a very good long-term care score this year, with a grade of B. This facility really did not have any weak categories. Facilities that excel in this category tend to be well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to patients. Once we finished looking at the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia is often a life or death illness for nursing home residents so we like it when a facility does not leave its residents vulnerable. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
