With 35,897 people, Belleville, New Jersey is a relatively small city. Unfortunately, there is only one nursing home there. We were relieved to discover that its only nursing home received a top-notch overall grade of A+. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the nursing homes in the nearby city of Irvington. We found the nursing home in Belleville to be in a totally different league than most of the nursing homes in Irvington. On top of this, Belleville is one of the three highest rated cities in the state of New Jersey.
In addition to being an excellent nursing home overall, this city's nursing home really excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received a grade of A+. Very few places earned a better grade in this category. In calculating our short-term care grades, we look at a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. This rating is often a reliable measure of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. This nursing home also really excelled in the category of inspections, where we gave it an A+. Wrapping up its straight A report card, the city were awarded an A in our long-term care category and an A in nursing.
